This was a very difficult decision, in fact, so difficult the Editor referred it to someone else. In the end, we had to choose two winners instead of one.
This first of the two winning entries was submitted by Ken Lovering. This masculine, and well-used altar with its hand- crafted runes, wolf carving and the beautiful picture of Odin with our sacred solar spiral, the swastika, quickly caught our attention. We hope that this brings our people an abundance of light, luck, love and life, the qualities that it has symbolized for us since our beginning.
Our next winning entry, submitted by Jörgen Wotansson-Harugari, has a sacred and joyous feel to it and was made for the holy night of Madrenacht. It has our greenery as symbol of everlasting life and of the cosmic tree, and appears to honor our Three Gods as well as the Dísir, and the coming rebirth of the Sun Goddess Sunna, and of Baldr, whose birth also brings light into the world.
